#20 – Pontiac Firebird Formula (1990s)

The Formula never got the fame of the Trans Am, but it offered the same V8 power with a cleaner look. Gen X liked it for being fast without screaming for attention, and today it remains one of the more affordable ways to get classic GM muscle.

#19 – Mazda RX-7 FC (1986–1991)

The second-generation RX-7 felt exotic without being unreachable. Its rotary engine and balanced handling made it feel different from anything else on the road. Ownership requires commitment, but the driving experience still feels special.

#18 – Chevrolet Camaro Z28 (Third Gen)

The third-gen Z28 defined late-80s cool. It looked aggressive, sounded right, and felt like a proper muscle car even during a softer era for performance. Prices are still reasonable if you shop carefully.

#17 – Ford Mustang GT (Fox Body)

Fox-body Mustangs were everywhere, which is exactly why Gen X loved them. They were fast, modifiable, and easy to work on. Today, they still make great project cars with massive aftermarket support.

#16 – Nissan 300ZX Z31

The early 300ZX mixed sharp styling with real performance. It felt futuristic in its day, and that wedge-shaped design still turns heads. Well-kept examples are becoming harder to find.

#15 – Toyota Supra Mk3

Before the legendary Mk4, the Mk3 Supra laid the groundwork. Turbo power, rear-wheel drive, and solid build quality made it a serious car. It is still a great value compared to what came after.

#14 – Porsche 944
